Fudzilla has published photos of a Radeon HD 3870 X2 which uses an alternative design to the one proposed by ATI.
By placing the PLX switch closer to the PCI-Express connection, PowerColor was able to reduce the space between the two RV670s while at the same time making the card shorter. We can also see the presence of two 6 pin power supply connections instead of a 6 and an 8 pin. Finally, this card sets itself apart by its reviewed cooling system and 4 DVI outputs. Announced as already being overclocked by default, it should not be too much faster than its other versions given the changes.
