Worshipped since its launch, availability of the Radeon HD 4770 is becoming a problem. This isn’t really very surprising because the news from the manufacturer at the beginning of May was that stocks would be very limited until July!
Is this a general production problem or rather a lack of production capacity of 40 nm chips at TSMC? It’s difficult to say but in any case the situation is more than regrettable, especially as lack of supply means that the few cards that are on sale are going at a higher price – and to think that one of the Radeon HD 4770’s main selling points was its price!
