DailyTech has reported a slight delay for the release of the GeForce 7950 GX2. It will finally happen the 31st of May instead of June 6. We remind you that the GeForce 7950 GX2 embeds two GeForce 7900 working by pair. The card format is comparable in length and height to the GeForce 7900 GTX.

NVIDIA indicates that only the mono card configuration will be supported at first. For now there won’t be a SLI of 7950 GX2 or in other words a 7900 GT Quad SLI. This solution will be for now reserved to integrators with the long and not much available GeForce 7900 GX2.
Because of the moderate success of the Quad SLI, we can believe that the decision to focus on the release of the 7950 GX2 come from the message that NVIDIA wants to associate to this card, which is that it is the fastest video card available.
