2"1/2, 9.5 mm thick hard drives with a storage capacity of 250 GB are very popular. After Samsung and Fujitsu, this is now Western Digital's turn to release its own product. The characteristics communicated are quite similar to the MHY2250BH.
The Scorpio 250 GB has two platters, uses three sides and the SATA 1.5 Gbits /s interface. The disk spins at 5400 Rpm and has 8 MB of cache. Read access time is 12ms and the noise level 24 dBA in standby. We noted that for write and read operations, the power consumption increases to 2.5 Watts. This is 0.6 Watts more than its Japanese rival. Seagate is the last one to not have released its hard drives and currently only has equivalent products with a storage capacity of up to 160 GB.
