Nvidia has officially launched the GeForce 8800M GTX and GeForce 8800M GTS, destined for high end mobile PCs. Final specifications of the 8800M GTX are indeed those that were unveiled by Alienware last week, in other words, a lesser version of the G92M.

While the arrival of high performance mobile DirectX 10 GPUs is a good thing, it’s not necessarily obvious for any given user that the 8800M GTX will have performances comparable to an 8800 GTS or that the 8800M GTS texture fill rate was reduced by a third compared to its desktop version. You may recall, the ''real'' 8800 GTX has 128
stream processors and frequencies of 575/1350/900 MHz (GPU, shader core, memory) as well as a memory bus width of 384 bits.
