Prolimatech is a newish brand, less well known than Noctua or Thermalright but which started to gain some notoriety with the Megahalems, a heatsink with performance levels up there with the best on the market.

The company is back, this time with the Armageddon. It corrects one of the main faults of the Megahalems, namely the fact that it was too big. The new arrival is smaller and should be easier to integrate, though at 144x50x160 mm, it is still large.

The fins are in nickel plated aluminium and there are six copper heatpipes, which makes it look pretty impressive on paper. Added to that, the Armageddon supports both 120 mm and 140 mm fans, which should allow it to gain a few decibels.

Unfortunatey the standard fixture is only compatible with sockets LGA 1156 and 1366 and an additional fixture is required for AM2/AM3 machines. Given an RRP of €59.95, this seems a bit mean.

The Prolimatech Armageddon should be available shortly from resellers.
