It seems to be the season because after AMD it’s now NVIDIA that has put a new driver on line, which however isn’t yet WHQL. ForceWare 163.67 is supposed to improve compatibility with Crysis (whose demo should be out in several weeks) and it also corrects several bugs mainly in Vista 32 bit.
Most noteworthy are the resolution of problems in exceeding video memory in Company of Heroes DX10 and the improvement of performances with STALKER in SLI which could be inferior to those in standard mode. Go here to download!
AMD has just made available on line its version 7.9 of the Catalyst Software Suite for Windows XP and Vista. New items on the menu include a Vista 64 bit version of the Avivo Video Converter as well as the possibility to adjust color temperature via the control panel. In addition to various bug remedies, notably in Bioshock, this new update adds various performance gains:
- Up to 14% better in Far Cry with the HD2900XT CrossFire, HD2400XT CrossFire and HD2600XT. - Gains of up to 12% in Call of Duty 2 with AA with the HD2600 XT with/without CrossFire - Up to 9% better in HL2 : Episode 1 with the HD2600XT CF and 6% with the HD2400XT CF - Increases of up to 46% in Serious Sam 2 with AA with the HD2400XT CF and 27% better with the 2600XT with/without CF. - Up to 9% better in Quake 4 with AA on the X1650 Pro/X1600/X1550/X1300 with/without CF.
