	Intel will reduce the price of the Socket 478 and the Socket 775 next August 22. This price reduction only concern the Pentium 4 C/E with a frequency over 3.0 GHz (the products with a frequency below 3 GHz are close to the end of their commercial life cycle). The price fall will be between 18 to 35 % depending on the frequency: Socket 478 : Socket 775 : As you can see, since a couple of weeks, a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 is 15$ less expensive on LGA775 than with a Socket 478 on OEMs. So, Intel should reduce the chipset prices and amongst them the i915 before the end of September. AMD should also logically reduce their prices on their processors.

	For the second trimester, Mercury Research's figures indicate a rise of AMD's market shares from 14.9% to 15.5%. Intel is loosing 0.9 points to 82.7%, and remains comfortably in front of their main competitor. It has to be said that AMD isn't the only one to benefit from this market share loss and VIA / Transmetta has now 1.8% instead of 1.5. The AMD market share rise is partly connected to the nature of the second trimester. The second trimester is generally the lowest for computer sales and most of the computers sold are entry level products. AMD is very successful in this area with the Athlon XP. The last year figures are almost identical as Intel and AMD had 82.6 and 15.6% of the x86 processor market.

	The 4-megapixels digital camera comparative test is now concerning 10 cameras instead of 8 with the arrival of the Nikon Coolpix 4100 and the Samsung V4. There is one expensive camera and one cheap, for everyone's budgets. So now the classifications have changed a little bit, and new options are available. Daylight pictures, night pictures, videos, switching on speed… the results with these cameras are sometime excellent sometime terrible!
