     ATI Catalyst 7.1

    AMD has released their first driver of 2007. They are logically named Catalyst 7.1.

    The main innovation is the standard uses of (when the game doesn't have a specific profile) the AFR mode in CrossFire instead of SuperTiling. We remind you that the first one consists in calculating one image out of two with each GPU and that the second divides the picture in squares (like a checkerboard) and spread the load between each GPU. AFR is most of the time more efficient but is also sometime more difficult to manage. This is the reason why so far it wasn't the standard choice.
