Crucial is to launch a new range of SSDs on the 20th July, the M2225s. These 2"1/2 SSDs will be available in 64, 128 and 256 GB versions and all three will use Flash NAND MLC memory. The speeds have been announced as follows:
Patriot Memory has just extended the guarantee on its SSDs from 2 to 10 years. This retroactive guarantee is valid on all SSDs in the Torqx series, namely:
- The 64, 128 and 256 GB Torqx, based on Indilinx Barefoots - The 128 and 256 GB M28 Torqx, based on the Samsung PB22-J
Good news then as most SSDs are only guaranteed for two years, which is maybe a bit low given the fears some users have in respect to their reliability. Corsairs, GSkills and SuperTalents are all limited to 2 years and Kingstons and OCZs 3 years.
