     AMD launches the FirePro V9800

Delayed several times, the FirePro V9800 has finally arrived, on the occasion of the IBC which is currently taking place in Amsterdam. This new ultra high-end in pro AMD graphics cards is basically to the FirePro V8800 what the Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition is to the Radeon HD 5870.

In other words, the FirePro V9800 has 6 video outs in mini-DisplayPort format and twice the video memory, which goes from 2 GB for the FirePro V8800 to 4 GB here. This memory is in fact the reason for the little delay in this new FirePro as AMD had to wait for the arrival of higher density GDDR5 modules, like NVIDIA for the Quadro 6000.

AMD has taken the opportunity of increasing the GPU clock slightly to 850 MHz from 825 MHz for the FirePro V8800, as well as the price which goes from €1500 to €2500.

We’ll be giving you a glimpse of performance soon!
