Next week AMD should be launching its Radeon HD 5750 and 5770. Based on the Juniper chip, a mid-range version of Cypress used in the HD 5850 and 5870, these cards are likely to replace the Radeon 4700/4800 series that will gradually start to run down towards end-of-life. Rendez-vous here in a week for more info!

As you may know, it recently became impossible to use a GeForce for PhysX acceleration and a Radeon for rendering. It was previously possible to do so but not in Windows Vista because of an OS limitation that stopped you using more than one graphics driver. This has changed with Windows 7 and NVIDIA therefore jumped to block the possiblity, probably fearing that current GeForce users would be advised to move over to a Radeon and keep their old cards for PhysX.

Today, a user of NGOHQ.com has published a patch that allows you to reactivate this functionality. Currently at beta stage, it nevertheless seems to work perfectly!
