	Officially announced last April, the Z-Drive had a difficult start. This week, OCZ has returned with a new corrected design. At first sight, you can see that the fan has gone and been replaced by a smaller cooling block that leaves part of the PCB uncovered. You still get a PCI-Express 4X card that will be available in 250 GB, 500 GB and 1 TB versions, still with a 256 MB cache. The 1 TB version is made up of a RAID of 4 256 GB MLC SSDs. The Z-Drive is made up of a RAID of 4 MLC SSDs with sequential speeds announced at 774/646, 878/761 and 878/871 MB /s (read/write – 250GB, 500GB and 1 TB versions). Note the big increase compared to the 1st version which was 500/470 MB/s at best! With a two year guarantee, the Z-Drives require a 4 pin molex power supply. The price of the 250 GB, 500 GB and 1 TB versions will be $1561, $2450 and $3369 respectively.

	It looks as if AMD might already have a working version of its 12 core Magny-Cours processor. It has recently been validated in CPU-Z. At 1.7 GHz, this prototype takes its place in a Socket G3 on the forthcoming Maranello platform based on the SR5690 chipset. Surprisingly, the L3 cache as reported by CPU-Z is only 10 MB, as against the expected 12 MB. The official launch is planned for next year.
