If you want to play on your computer and save the planet at the same time (it is possible yes), Inno3D is offering a range of “Green Edition” graphics cards based on NVIDIA GPUs. The Energy Save Edition range, or E-Save includes three GeForce 9800 GT, 9600 GT and 9600 GSO cards.
The three models have significantly lower clocks than standard cards, which means the GPU power supply voltage can be lowered and the 6-pin power connector removed: the card design is therefore much simplified and the cards less expensive to produce. Inno3D has announced a reduction in energy consumption of 40% in 3D mode and 60% in idle. Here's the spec for each model:

To be compared with the clocks of standard cards:
- 9800 GT : 600/1500/900 MHz
- 9600 GT : 650/1625/900 MHz
- 9600 GSO : 650/1625/900 MHz
In comparison with other "green" cards announced and based on the 9800 GT, the Inno3D shader clocks have not been lowered. Neither availability nor the retail price have yet been announced. Cynics will no doubt say that the “Green” has only been brought out to help the consumer swallow the “LE” versions that are quite simply cheaper, in view of the lack of new high-performance GPUs.
