It’s almost a tradition. Each time a ‘’new’’ GPU is released from Nvidia, there is stampede of announcements from its partners. Even if they are displaying less enthusiasm than for the launch of the GeForce 9600 GT, which we can understand, it should be easy and quick to find 9800 GTXs from different companies including ASUSTek, MSI, PNY, Point Of View, eVGA, BFG, Leadtek, Zotac, Gainward and XFX.
Given that the card’s default frequencies are relatively high, all are currently happy with offering the reference model without the slightest overclocking or smallest innovation to cooling. The only thing is that compared to the aging 8800 GTX sold for 250€ or 50€ less, performances are sometimes less (at least in certain cases), and these cards aren’t particularly attractive. |

Gartner has published its top 10 semi-conductor manufacturers list for 2007.
Unsurprisingly, Intel stays on top and does so with flying colors because its revenue grew 10.7% in the past year while the average increase was 3.8%. The South Korean company Samsung holds its second place and Toshiba is barely ahead of Texas Instruments. With revenue down 20.9%, AMD barely makes the list. Note that Infineon’s results integrate the sales of its subsidiary Qimonda and that Renesas Technology is composed of Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric. |
