Yesterday, Intel announced price reductions for four of its Core 2 processors:

While it is rather nice to see the price of the E8500 decrease by 31% and the Q6600 to go under the symbolic $200 mark, we should nevertheless keep in mind that already planned price reductions and changes for the third quarter should be more ambitious. If everything goes well, the Q9550 should be 40% less expensive and we should see the arrival of the Q9650, Q9400, E8600 and E7300. Now we can only hope that the Santa Clara company will not wait until the last week of September to update its price list.
