OCZ, the well known memory manufacturer which is always looking for new markets, is launching itself on the self-assembled or DIY (Do-It-Yourself) PC laptop market.

Note that it is sold under the OCZ brand and not under its subsidiary Hypersonic even if it curiously resembles certain models from the latter. The idea may immediately appear attractive because there is a 15.4" screen and you can choose your CPU, its memory, and hard drive or SSD. Other components such as a TV tuner or Bluetooth 2.0+EDR or Intel 4965AGN 802.11a/g/n adapters are available as options.

The chipset, a PM965 combined with an ICH8M, is currently the best Intel offers best but the fact of imposing an aging GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB on a Gaming Notebook rather than allowing buyers to choose could be disappointing for more than one potential buyer...
