According to Digitimes, ABIT should soon make another attempt at the 3D market by offering cards equipped with Nvidia GPUs.
The Taiwanese company will have its work cut out for it because it will have to compete with a number of its compatriots not the least of which include Elitegroup, Foxconn, ASUSTek and MSI. However, because the market is profitable, the creator of the BH6 has decided to try again. One too many times, some will say.
The first attempt, which we have to admit was more or less forced, goes back ten years ago with Intel’s i740. There was a grand scale announcement at the Computex 99 and then the ensuing commercialization. The adventure with Nvidia stopped after the release of the GeForce FX and continued with a partnership with ATI but the rather lukewarm reception of the R600 seemed to have put an end to it. We will just have to see how the company plans on setting itself apart this time given that the OTES has long been out of fashion...
