After the 890G from Asus, it's over to MSI with the AMD 890FX. This forthcoming high-end chipset should be available as of the spring and has been designed for the Phenom II hexacore and will have up to 4 PCI Express 8x ports to give Quad Crossfire X support, as is the case in the MSI implementation. The SB850 southbridge supports SATA 6 Gbps but not USB 3.0. For this, MSI has used the NEC controller for its 890FX-GD70.
Note that the manufacturer was also showing the 890GXM-GD65, a micro-ATX motherboard based on the AMD 890G.
