In the little world of electronics, the year begins with CES in Las Vegus, one of the biggest shows in the world for the sector and one that we have decided to cover in 2010 by focussing on PC Hardware.

One of the main themes of this CES will no doubt be 3D or more precisely stereoscopic vision, that is set to take off in 2010. The success of Avatar shows that the technology is finally up to the mark and TV manufacturers are looking to make the most of it and introduce it into our living rooms in spite of the inconvenience of having to wear appropriate glasses.

There are probably many of you waiting for more information on Fermi, the forthcoming NVIDIA GPU, at this CES. We can already tell you that outside of any leaks on certain details, we won’t be seeing much of it here. There isn’t however very long to wait… at least for the technical details. During the show, NVIDIA is going to concentrate on its mobile products and 3D Vision with support for Bluray 3D and display on 3 screens. We saw NVIDIA setting up this system this afternoon, the official opening being tomorrow.

AMD are also going to be concentrating on mobile products and stereoscopy, with the arrival of the rest of the desktop product range, the Radeon HD 5600, 5500 and 5400 being planned for a little later with a first product to be launched on January 14th.
