The Q8200 and E5200 on their way out

Intel today announced that it is planning to bring production of two of its entry level processors to an end, namely the Pentium Dual Core E5200 and the Core 2 Quad Q8200. These two processors were the foundary’s entry level in terms of bi and quad core CPUs and were much used by OEMs.
As things stand, OEMs can place orders for the E5200 up until May 7th for deliveries up until January 2011 or August 2010 (for box versions). Orders for the Q8200 can be placed until May for deliveries up till July 2011 or August 2010 for box versions.
The processors should still be used in OEM machines for some time then but they will gradually be replaced by faster ones.
