Title: Toshiba to recall 340.000 batteries
Description: After Apple and Dell, Toshiba recalls approximately 340.000 batteries. Like Apple and Dell, these batteries were actually produced by Sony. Toshiba indicates however that batteries concerned shouldn’t overheat and possibly pose a risk of fire but rather be in a few rare cases at the origin of failures independently of how they are used.

The irony is that the website of the manufacturer only laconically mentions that Toshiba has found "no evidence that the problem reported by Dell and Apple in their recalls applies to our notebook PCs" probably forgetting the 340.000 batteries.

Last but not least, the recent incident of an IBM laptop user in an airport let us believe that other manufacturers might follow Toshiba's example in a near future.
