Title:
Cheaper Core 2 Duo processors?
Description:
Even if they aren't prohibitively expensive, some of you already wonder when the first Core 2 Duo price cuts will take place. Unfortunately, because of the lack of competition it won't happen in the months to come. The last price list published and in use until January do not include any price reduction of these CPUs
So, the only possibility to have a cheaper Core 2 Duo will be the release in January of a new model, the E4300. Sold at $163 instead of $183 for the E6300, this new processor will have the following characteristics: 1.8 GHz, FSB800 and 2 MB of cache L2. The most inquisitive of you will have noticed that it uses a X9 multiplying coefficient. It will be an excellent processor for overclocking.
