Title:
Kingston announces a 24GB kit
Description:
After the bi-LGA1366 motherboard, Kingston are going for another outsize product, the 24 GB HyperX, launched today at CES. It is no less no more than a 24 GB DDR3 1600MHz kit! Made up of six bars of 4 GB, it has been designed with X58 cards in mind. Owners of i5s have not been forgotten though, with an announement of a 16 GB kit of 4 bars at the same time. Both are certified at 1600MHz (CL9-9-9-27) for 1.65v and known as the KHX1600C9D3K6/24GX and KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX respectively. As usual for HyperX kits, these bars have a lifetime guarantee.
Of course you need a 64 bit version system for such a quantity of memory. Only pros will really be likely to be able to make use of such a quantity of memory, but as they are not ECC Registered they have actually been designed for general consumer machines…
A final detail: you’ll need to shell out €1067.58 and €711.60 +VAT to acquire these modules.
