We have know this since September, the Intel Lynnfield, the version of Nehalem architecture destined for the general public, has been functioning since July, although it wont be available until the third quarter of 2009. Even more surprising, the first models have already started to be seen out and about and have appeared on the celebrated forum XtremeSystems.
On the photos, the Lynnfield is on the left, while the Core i7 (ex Bloomfield) is on the right, a Quad Core Duo in the centre. As a reminder, the Lynnfield will use a Socket LGA1160, and the Core i7 a Socket LGA1366. |
