AMD has launched three new Phenom X3s. First, the X3 8750 Black Edition that, like the original version, is clocked at 2.4 GHz with a TDP of 95W, but with an unlocked multiplier and at a $5 premium. At $134, it is up there with the E7300 that Intel are offering at $133, and can be a worthwhile alternative even though the three cores are still underutilized.
The other processors are in the Energy Efficient range, with a TDP of 65W: an 8450e (2.1 GHz) and an 8250e (1.9 GHz) for which the prices haven’t been given.
