In addition to the Core 2 QX9300 and Q9100, Intel has recently launched six other mobile CPUs, the Core 2 Duo "S" (for small) in a size similar to those used in the MacBook Air. In BGA format, they only measure 22x22mm and are therefore 60% smaller than the classic Core 2 Duo Mobile.
While Apple and Lenovo will be amongst the first to integrate them to their products, the arrival of a relatively large number of new models may result in a progressive standardization of this type of processor for large manufacturers on the high end.
