Nvidia reduction: XFX & EVGA reimburse

Following the price reductions of the GeForce GTX 260 and 280, XFX and EVGA have put into place a program to reimburse the price difference for those that paid more for their cards or they are offering credit for the purchase of other products. While a number of criteria have to be fulfilled for the manufacturer (time and country of purchase, authorized distributor, limited time period, etc.) and we do not always get back the entire difference, we can only praise such initiatives that enable recuperating/saving up to $150 for a GTX 280.

At a time when manufacturers are often offering the same cards on the very high end segment, some have perfectly understood that they can set themselves apart from rivals other than by just adding a more elaborate logo. Let’s hope some of the other much bigger companies will follow their example so that buyers in the Old World are able to benefit from the same privileges as those in the U.S.
