GeForce GTX 200 SLI and Skulltrail

The few Intel Skulltrail (dual Quadcore processor) owners that continued to go all the way in their extreme platform investment by acquiring two GeForce GTX 200s got the bad surprise of not being able to activate SLI. Thus the fear that Nvidia decided to no longer support the platform (SLI certified) with its new products.

We contacted Nvidia to know more. The manufacturer proved to be reassuring and said that SLI support was not abandoned for the Skulltrail. It’s simply an issue of validation. As you may have guessed it’s not this platform that Nvidia is focusing on in priority for validating new products. And this is all the more so true given the very tense relations it has with Intel. Whatever the case, the validation process is on its way and support of the GeForce GTX 200 in SLI on the Skulltrail should arrive in the few weeks, either late July or early August, according to Nvidia.
