Nvidia has just unveiled the Quadro FX 4700 X2. Following the example of the GeForce 9800 X2, it has two G92s (with 112 scalar processors activated in each), as is confirmed by the GeForce Release 174.93 : NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0619.1 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 4700 X2".

Nvidia had the good idea of equipping its card with 2 X 1 GB of GDDR3 set at à frequency of around 860 MHz and a memory bandwidth of 51.2 GB/s. Given that 512 MB is becoming more often insufficient in high resolution and the fact that data is stocked double, such a quantity of memory is far from being useless on a professional dual GPU card. On the other hand, this means power consumption is higher at 226W.
In terms of outputs, there are 4 DVI and 1 stereo. Of course, it has specific drivers for 3D Pro programs. As for performances, gains compared to the Quadro FX 3700
vary tremendously depending on the application.
