ITocp has published the supposed final specifications of the GeForce 9500 GS. You may recall, this card has a G96 engraved in 65nm. Just like the G84 which equips the GeForce 8600, it contains 32 scalar processors and a 128 bit wide memory controller.
GPU/shader core/memory frequencies will be 550/1375/500 MHz versus 650/1600/800-900 MHz for the GeForce 9500 GT. We can therefore expect performances between those of the GeForce 8500 GT and 8600 GT. Note that the card has 512 MB of DDR2 but models equipped with GDDR3 are also planned.
