AMD takes another blow in the form of a new resignation and not an insignificant one as it was none other than Phil Hester, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and Vice President.
Starting in 2005 with the company, he was responsible for the
vision and technical direction, his first priority being
accelerated computing initiative . He was also involved in the Fusion project but not on the day to day R&D level. Therefore, in the short term, his departure shouldn’t have any effect. Note that he has no replacement and the members of his team will be integrated to other AMD divisions.
