While most Core 2 models derived from the Penryn core were officially presented a few days ago, Intel has finally chosen the name Core 2 E7000 and not E5000 for the successors of the Core 2 E4000 in the mid-range.

In practice, the 7200 is indeed a Wolfdale equipped with 3 MB of L2 cache and an FSB 1066MHz. Set at 2.53GHz, it will be sold at $133 for orders of a thousand units or at the current price of the E4600 (2.4GHz and 2 MB of L2 cache). The first models will arrive in the second quarter.
Lower down the line, we can see that
Intel’s price list still does not mention the Pentium E2200 which are however available.
