Catalyst Linux for the Radeon HD 2000

ATI has finally put its 8.41.7 driver on line which is the Linux version of Catalyst 7.9 for Windows. If as promised Radeon HD 2000s are now supported, its use is not recommended with DirectX 9 GPUs due to a lack of stability. This is quite unfortunate for those waiting for significant performance gains with R500 architecture. The Release Notes, however, specify that a future version will resolve this problem.
