The release of a Radeon HD 2900 Pro in the very near future now seems a certainty. A line in non-official Catalyst 7.8 beta documents on the net explicitly mentions its existence:
"ATI Radeon HD 2900 PRO" = ati2mtag_R600, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9403
Note that it’s based on thR600 and not a new chip. While AMD’s graphic division has everything to gain by offering a product with a good performance/price ratio, little more can be said about this card given the lack of information in these two areas.
