In addition to the Yorkfield Extreme Edition, other processors stemming from Penryn architecture should be available in the fourth quarter of 2007. However, these will exclusively be the Xeon Harpertown (quad core) and Wolfdale (dual core), which are meant to take over for the Clovertown and other Woodcrests. All of the Harpertowns will have a frequency of at least 2 GHz and the Wolfdale-DP will go as high as 3.33 GHz in its standard version. The existence of a Low Voltage version set at 3.16 GHz with a TDP of 40 Watts looks promising and these figures can lead us to believe that Intel has reasonable margins for increasing frequencies with its new architecture in the future.
