Mitsubishi also comes back to LCDs Posted on 30/06/2007 at 08:00 by Vincent
The rumor has been running for two years now. And it was actually the stated reason for the separation of Nec and Mitsubishi, the latter wanted to launch its own line of flat screens.
The upcoming Mitsubishi RDT241W LCD is a 24 inch with a nice gamut covering 92% of the NTSC space. This is good. Video input is classic with DVI with HDCP and VGA. This is also good. The contrast ratio is 900:1, which is a bit below that of the competition, Dell being at 1000:1.
And then we come to the surprising part. At no time does Mitsubishi mention the type of panel technology. We are, however, given the viewing angles of 160° laterally and 160° vertically. Unless we are wrong, this should be a TN type screen, which tends to be confirmed by the given reaction time of 5 ms.
The price and availability have not yet been disclosed.
