Radeon 2900 1GB GDDR4 in June? Posted on 31/05/2007 at 23:57 by Nicolas
TweakTown has received some information regarding the release next month of a Radeon HD 2900XT featuring 1 GB of GDDR4. AMD will apparently launch a nine inch long version similar to the one tested here. We should also expect the release of 12.4 inch cards in some of the OEM computers such as Dell, HP and Fujitsu-Siemens. Even if the frequency of the memory isn't yet known, we might have our doubts on the impact of this improvement on performances compared to the GDDR3. The bandwidth isn't a restrictive factor for the HD 2900 XT. Also, such an amount of memory won't be of interest for games.
