4Gamer.net has opened a XG Station, the station for graphic cards that connects to the laptop via ExpressCard slot. We noted that if we thought at first that a double slot graphic card could fit in, this isn't actually the case because of the presence of a fan that prevents the insertion of such cards.

We remind you that the XG Station will be available before the end of the second quarter at 500€ approximately with one 7900 GS. It will also be available alone at an unknown price. If this solution might be of interest for owners of light laptops that do not feature powerful graphic solutions, we have to keep in mind that the PCI Express link for ExpressCard is only of type x1. Consequently, performances will be strongly reduced compared to a communication in x16. With 3DMark06, for example, the framerate will be divided by two.
