Intel has unveiled the processor price list for the third quarter to its partners, and the least we can say is that it is full of surprises:
The Quad Core is finally affordable! After the Q6600 price reduction to $530 next April 22, it will fall to $266 during the third quarter. This will also be the price of the E6850, the first Core2 Duo to reach officially 3 GHz.
The E6700 will be replaced by a FSB1333 model, the E6750, sold $183 instead of $530 currently for the E6700 and $316 after April's price cut. For cheaper CPUs, the E4400 will replace the E430 and will be replaced at $133 by the E4500 clocked at 2.2 GHz.
