Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 price

Intel will release early November the first Quad Core processor, the Core 2 Extreme Edition QX6700 that will be priced as usual $999. This price is the same as the current X6800 clocked at 2.93 GHz instead of 2.67 GHz for the QX6700. It is however "only" dual core.

What will be the Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz price to be released in January? Unfortunately, you will also have to make an effort because Intel priced it $851. This is 2.7 times the price of a Core 2 Duo E6600!

Knowing that Intel estimates that the Quad Core will only represent 2 to 3 % of the desktop processor sales during the third quarter 2007, we think that this price policy will be unchanged until the release of the 45 nm fabrication process.
