First of all, Intel will release during the first half 2007 a 2.93 GHz « Core 2 Duo » processor. For now, this frequency was restricted to the X6800 and to the $999 of the Extreme line. In consequence, we could expect lower prices and possibly price cuts for the entire product line.
We will, however, have to wait for the third quarter 2007 and the FSB1333 to have a higher number of references:
- E6850: 3.00 GHz, FSB1333, 4 MB of cache L2 - E6750: 2.66 GHz, FSB1333, 4 MB of cache L2 - E6650: 2.33 GHz, FSB1333, 4 MB of cache L2
We noted that the E6600 will be 2.8% higher clocked than the new E6650 because of the multiplying coefficient action. This frequency gap won't be compensated by the FSB improvement. |
