Logo NvidiaNVIDIA released the ForceWare 92.91 drivers. This beta version named « PureVideo HD Beta driver » includes H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 HD decoding acceleration. These functionalities were however already present in the previous version.

In fact, the real innovation seems to be the HDCP support if, of course, you card is compatible. According to the representative of NVIDIA, the noise reduction and image sharpening algorithms available for SD videos aren't yet integrated. It is important however to point out that because of the resources required to accelerate the decoding, it isn't necessarily easy to also add such effects.
