After Dell, it is now the turn of Apple to recall batteries. Same cause, same effect. These are the lithium-ion batteries made by Sony for Apple that are recalled. The reason of this recall is the presence of metal impurities that might produce in a few rare cases a short circuit leading to overheat and possibly a risk of fire.
It concerns no less than 1.4 million of battery sold with the iBook G4 12", Powerbook G4 12 and 15" notebook computers manufactured from October 2006 through August 2006. To have more information, go to this page.
