One year after the release of the first 2"1/2 120GB drive and seven months after the first 160 GB, Fujitsu is the first to release a disc of that size providing a storage capacity of 200 GB, the MHV2200BT. This 4200 Rpm Serial ATA disc features 1.5 Gbits /s interface, 8MB of cache and supports NCQ.

Once more, the "trick" used by Fujitsu is to have three platters instead of two like their competitors. The height of this disc is of 12.5 mm as compared to 9.5 mm for standard 2"1/2. The density of the surface isn't as high as the last Seagate Momentus 5400.3 that reaches 160GB with two platters.
