	According to a Japanese daily newspaper and Reuters, Sony and Toshiba would have stopped negotiations for a unified standard instead of the Blu-ray and the HD-DVD. Delay would be too short before HD-DVD/Blu-ray products release. It has been a few months since discussion were going on but nobody has apparently gave up on the main obstacle, the protection layer. It is of 0.6 mm for DV-DVD and 0.1 mm for Blu-rays’ medias.
