     P4 with BTX Thermal module

Unusual Pentium 4 560J, sold with BTX Thermal Modules have been released in Japan. This module combines the CPU heatsink and a plastic pipe to extract air.

We remind you that that BTX norm main objective is to deliver improved airflow to high power components while using fewer fans and lower fan speeds, allowing the systems to run cooler and quieter. This low temperature airflow travels from the front of the system to the rear panel to cool down the CPU and the other components.

One alternative solution to the BTX norm would be to increase Intel’s CPU performance / watt ratio, which has been dramatically reduced since the release of the P4 Prescott.
