     X700 LE = X700

New X700 equipped with a Radeon X700 LE have been recently released in Japan. The new graphic cards are: ASUSTeK Extreme AX700 and Gigabyte GV-RX70128D. Their price: approximately 20 000 Yens (US$193).

According to the specification announced for the ASUSTEK graphic card, the X700 LE would be the association of a X700 clocked at 400 MHz and 350 MHz for the memory…this is actually the same frequencies as the standard X700! (instead of 425/430 for the Pro version).

But the origin of this problem would be, according to ATI France, that the standard VPU X700 code name is RV410LE. This is the reason why several manufacturers have wrong product denominations. X700 and X700 LE are still the same product until the release of the “real” X700 LE which will run at 400 MHz core and 250 MHz for the memory.
