Logo sphère ATIThe day before yesterday, we wrote spoke of the R480, a new version of the current X800. We have today more information on this subject coming from K-Hardware. Frequencies are confirmed but the fabrication process proved false. K-Hardware announces 130 nm like the current X800. The R480 sales name should be X850, and the following declinations are announced :

    - Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition : 16 pipelines, 540/590 MHz, $499
    - Radeon X850 XT : 16 pipelines, 520/540 MHz, $449
    - Radeon X850 : 12 pipelines, 520/540 MHz, $399

These chips will be released next December but mass production should really start in January. The R430 should finally have a 110 nm fabrication process and will be released end of January early February. These chip performances should be between the X700 and the X850 and should logically be called X750.
