Intel has just announced that its favourite quad core, the Core 2 Q6600 has come to the end of the line. For the last few months, the Q6600 has been the last 65 nm Core 2 Quad still in the catalogue, this due to its continued popularity. Intel clients can still order OEM and box versions until May 8th and box versions will still be delivered until August 7th and the CPUs will still be available for OEM versions until July 2010. In November we published a now current article entitled “ Q8200, Q8300: which will take over from the Q6600? ”. For the time being the Q8200 costs the same as the Q6600, but we are waiting for the Q8300 to be cut to about the same level…
